Oleg Mashevskyi
Doctor of History, Professor, Head of Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of Foreign Countries of historical department of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University; board member of the NGO «Ukrainian Association of American Studies»; Chairman of the editorial boards of scientific journals «American History and Politics» and «European Historical Studies».
Born May on 22, 1971 in the village of Zazimya of Brovary district, Kyiv region. In 1994 graduated the history department of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. In 1994 – 1997 was a postgraduate student of Kyiv National University of Taras Shevchenko. In 1997 defended Candidate of Science thesis«The policy of government of Hetman Pavlo Skoropadsky in education, science and arts (April-December 1918).» In 2010 defended Doctor of Historical Sciences thesis « The policy of international alliances on The Black Sea straits (70s of XIX century – 1918)» Since 1998 works as an assistant, lecturer, professor, head of chair of modern and Contemporary history of foreign countries.
Teaches students of historical faculty a number of normative disciplines and special courses: «Modern History of Western Europe and North America», «History of International Relations», «Western countries policy towards Ukraine in 1914-1923», «Western world and Ukraine in 1990s – the beginning of XXIst century».
Has a wide range of research interests. Works on problems of international relations in the nineteenth century – in the first quarters of the twentieth century, including the activities of international unions in this period, as well as the policy of the Western states towards Ukraine in 1914-1923, international relations of the second half of the XX – early XXI century, Ukrainian-American relations, the history of Ukrainian Hetman State in 1918.
Is the author of over 120 scientific and methodical works.
